平林漠漠煙如織，寒山一帶傷心碧。
暝色入高樓，有人樓上愁。
玉階空佇立，宿鳥歸飛急。
何處是歸程？長亭更短亭

譯：

在平地上，林木分佈陳列著，濃密的煙靄瀰漫著，看到四面的一片山色，使人有寒涼的感
覺。更增加內心的憂傷罷了。

當暮色漸漸進入高樓時，有人因為想到她的丈夫不能趕路回去，正在樓上愁悶著。

她獨自一個人久立在美麗的石階上，看到鳥兒急急地飛回巢穴。更期望他能夠及時回來。

那裏是他回去的路程呢？遙望旅途上的長亭接短亭，更令人感到無限地空虛與惆悵。
